Five Ways to Help Make Your Dreams Come True

Do you have a dream? More specifically, do you have a dream that clearly indicates where you want to go, what you want to do, and when you want to accomplish it? If yes, then make it happen! Don’t wait any longer to make your dreams come true and make a commitment today to start working on it.

Work, yes. Did you actually think that your dreams will materialize if you just sit there and wish hard for it? No, you have to work hard and be persistent enough to attain them, and here are five ways to help you get started:

  1. Clearly define your goals on paper. Let’s say you want to become an actress. That’s a good start. Now be a little more specific. Do you want to appear in films or on stage? If it’s the latter, do you want to appear in independently-produced, art house movies or in commercially-produced ones? The reason behind this is that you need to know what you want to do so you know where you ought to go for the next step in making your dreams come true.

  1. Assess your current situation. Are your finances, domestic situation, education level, current work, and relationships solid enough to support your ambitions? For instance, your goal is to move from the suburbs to the city to be closer to the theaters where you plan on auditioning for one role after one until you get your big break. How will this impact your bank account? How will your family and friends take it? You can’t be persistent in pursuing this great move if too many things will be negatively affected. Granted that you want to make your dreams come true, but you also need to be realistic about the timing of it all.

  1. Think of your strategy. Pretend you just made all your dreams come true, then time-travel to the past (which technically is the present!). Use that reverse travel to plot the steps you need to take to achieve your goals. Simply put, it’s forecasting what you need to do, where to go and whom to contact to help you succeed.

4.    Assess your commitment level. A number of us start pursuing our dreams with vigor and gusto in the beginning, then as time passes and the journey to success seems to get longer and longer and your final destination farther and farther, it gets harder to convince yourself to be persistent and carry on. Before you take any crucial, life-changing steps to make your dreams come true, ask yourself this all-important question: “Am I really ready to commit myself to this dream and endure all the hardships that come with the turf?”

5. Write down the tools you need to make your dreams come true. Tools can be something like higher education, especially to those who want an MBA to increase their chances of making it in the corporate world. Another example would be a sturdy computer, which you will definitely need to write that best-selling novel you have in mind. Every dream needs a tool of sort, so figure out what your own dreams need.

Your goals in life will remain unfulfilled dreams if you don’t act on them. Don’t wait for someone to give you that big break you’ve always wanted. Make your move and be persistent even in the face of all challenges, and one day you will make all your dreams come true. Good luck and enjoy the journey to success!
